The first day was spent traveling and registering. Thereafter, seeking out comrades and gathering for lunch or dinner. The second day at breakfast and lunch, we caught up with current events in our lives, and news of our comrades who couldn't make the reunion. While our meeting room was being prepared, the group took occupancy of the benches with a beautiful view of the swimming pool and sunbathers. During this time we exercised our eyeballs and our wives, their elbows. I think we all agreed that some of the shapes we saw should really stay in Vegas. The third day, June 5th, we met in our meeting room for a continental breakfast. Following was a discussion of further reunions. It seems interest in western reunions was diminishing, perhaps due to our age, distance and physical conditions. Since the majority of the members of the battalion were from the Midwest, perhaps future reunions would be better in that part of the country. There were suggestions for entertainment, Branson, MO, would be a good place or New Orleans for the World War II Museum.
